Hello!

My name is Norma Guerra Doerksen, and I am delighted to be a part of the KCUSD team as your School Social Worker.

I bring over 28 years of dedicated experience working in diverse school and mental health settings.

 Services & Expertise

My role is focused on removing barriers to academic and personal success. I provide a range of confidential services to support the emotional well-being and basic needs of our students and families:

• Individual Counseling: Providing one-on-one support for students navigating personal, social, and emotional challenges.
• Group Counseling: Facilitating small groups focused on common issues such as social skills, grief, or stress management.
• Mental Health Assessments: Conducting initial evaluations to determine student needs and appropriate levels of support.

 

 

• Community Resource Referrals: Connecting students and families with specialized mental health services and agencies outside of the school setting.
• Parent Workshops: Offering informational sessions on topics relevant to supporting student success and well-being.
• Basic Needs Support: Assisting families with connections to essential resources, such as the food pantry.
