Mrs. Silva, Student Connections Counsellor
Hello,
My name is Bridget Silva, Student Connections School Counselor for Kings Canyon Unified School District (KCUSD). I grew up in Orange Cove and attended schools within KCUSD growing up (e.g Sheridan Elementary, Citrus Middle School, and Orange Cove High School). I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Art History from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2013. After my undergraduate career I immersed myself in the field of education through a variety of roles such as an after school program leader, a behavior interventionist, and eventually a special education paraprofessional. I developed a passion for helping students with academic and behavioral needs, which lead me to obtain my Master of Arts in School Psychology from Fresno Pacific University in 2020. The past four years I worked as a school psychologist intern and full time school psychologist in Reedley, Orange Cove, and Sanger. I worked collaboratively with staff and parents to help address the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. As a Student Connections Counselor I will be supporting at-risk students and their families by providing them with the information, training, and resources necessary for their academic and post-graduate success. I am honored to be back at KCUSD and looking forward to connecting and collaborating with students, staff, and parents.
